Don't kid yourself, K7. Whether your diploma says Auburn or Harvard you're still just merely a fan. "Sidewalk fans" as you call them are what make College Football the monster it is. Get off your high horse. AU c/o '94
I feel bad for anyone who has to deal with bad fans, but this story is a little far-fetched. Spit on 20 times? Athens is my 2nd fav place to AU in the SEC and I honestly think I could wear an Osama shirt in NYC and not be spit on 20 times. If you're going to embellish at least make it believable. For the record UGA fans were good to me Sat night. And drunk fans from both sides were obnoxious. I don't know why people feel the need to get trashed to enjoy a football game. Do you even remember it?
Again, that is an elitist and narrow-minded way to look at fans. Going to a school doesn't give you more of a right to root for that school's football team. IT'S A FOOTBALL TEAM! YOU DIDN'T GO THERE SO YOU'D "have a right" TO ROOT FOR THE TEAM. Ugh pretentious alumni are so annoying. I'm a proud AU alumnus and I know it's the non-alumni that make the sport the monster it is. WAKE UP!
Kevin McCann......That's an awfully narrow-minded way to look at fans. I went to Auburn, but I welcome any person with open arms who wants to root for OUR Tigers. Me having a diploma doesn't make me more deserving to be a fan. Some people go in the military. Some can't afford college. Hell, some just can't get in. That means they can't root for a team? Did you go to school for the football team??? LMAO
This piece is shocking to me. I have been attending Auburn games for 33 years and no group of fans has treated me better than Georgia fans. I've had complete strangers offer me food and drinks. This year a UGA fan just GAVE me a ticket! I guess there are bad apples in every bunch, but I have always been impressed with the Georgia crowd. A few of my fellow AU alums from Georgia weren't admitted to UGA and are still bitter about it. I hope that isn't the genesis of these complaints. That would be awfully petty.
