Dan Mullen did not seem concerned about Florida’s 3-2 start following the loss to Kentucky on Saturday, and discussed at his Monday press conference his outlook for the season.

“There’s a lot of football left to played this year. We’ll see how it plays out,” Mullen said.

Mullen did not agree with the sentiment that Florida’s ceiling is New Year’s Six games.

Mullen was also asked about the timeouts the Gators carried into halftime. He said if Kentucky was punting from their 5 and Florida started at around the 40, the timeouts would have been used. But sometimes if you’re deep in your own territory, you want to get out from near the goal line, and not give the opposing team a chance for an explosive play.

Mullen also lamented the penalties, which overall was 15 penalties, including 8 false starts.

“That’s on me to make sure we’re playing at a disciplined level. … It really is [on me],” he said. “I take it personally.”
