Florida denies Ole Miss again on fourth down in second half
Florida has the JJ Pegues play snuffed out.
Ole Miss tried to run its 325-pound defensive tackle in the first half and got stuffed. Deep into the third quarter, trailing 17-14 and standing at the Florida 10, Ole Miss tried to run Pegues again on a fourth-and-1.
Once again, Pegues tried to run off tackle. Once again, Florida stopped him short.

That turnover on downs marked the third trip inside the Gator red zone that ended without points for Ole Miss. Ole Miss turned it over on downs from the Florida 11 in the first quarter. It missed a field goal from the Florida 17 in the second quarter.
According to the ABC broadcast, Pegues entered Saturday’s game against the Gators with a perfect conversion rate on his carries this season. All 12 of his carries either gained a first down or a touchdown.
Against Florida, the fourth-down stop in the third quarter was his sixth carry of the day. Only 3 of those attempts moved the chains.
Through 3 quarters, Florida held Ole Miss to just 85 total rushing yards at 3.3 a carry.
Say what you want to about Billy Napier, but his team has not quit on him and he has them playing well with a 7 point lead with half a quarter left.
Don’t jinx it!
LOL! My apologies.
I am glad to see I didn’t mess things up for you. Celebrate well.
It was a good back and forth game, I’m glad the Gators were able to finish strong.
