Former Florida WR Trent Whittemore is staying in the Sunshine State. Whittemore announced Saturday that he is transferring to UCF.

Whittemore, a Gainesville native, was with the Gators for 4 seasons. Whittemore may not have played his last game in The Swamp. UCF and Florida are scheduled to play in Gainesville on Oct. 5, 2024.

Before the end of the 2022 season, Whittemore entered the transfer portal on Nov. 14 as a graduate transfer. In his UF career, Whittemore made 29 appearances, posting 33 catches for 425 yards and 2 touchdowns. Whittemore has 2 seasons of eligibility remaining.

Last season, Whittemore played in 11 games, recording 19 receptions for 210 yards and a touchdown, also throwing 2 TDs. In 2022, Whittemore appeared in 7 games, logging 4 catches for 87 yards.

Creed Whittemore, Trent’s younger brother, flipped his commitment from Florida to Mississippi State in the fall and signed with the Bulldogs. Some expected Trent Whittemore to join his brother in Starkville, but instead, he’ll be continuing his career playing for Gus Malzahn’s program.
