Bullard is widely considered one of the SEC’s top defensive linemen. The senior defensive tackle has 44 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, five sacks and five quarterback hurries. He is expected to be an early round selection in next April’s NFL Draft.
Two other defenders could also miss Saturday’s game. Joey Ivie, another defensive tackle, is out with an undisclosed injury, while safety Keanu Neal is questionable with a foot injury. Neal is third on the Gators with 55 tackles.
The Gators’ defense will also be without defensive end Jordan Sherrit for the first half of the South Carolina game. Sherrit got a targeting penalty in the second half of the Vanderbilt game.
Left tackle David Sharpe has a foot injury, and is day-to-day. Sharpe suffered the injury against Vanderbilt, but continued to play.
No. 11 Florida (8-1) plays South Carolina (3-6) at noon ET Saturday in Columbia, S.C. The game will be shown on ESPN.
