Jac Caglianone is putting together a power display this season of impressive proportions. However, Friday’s home run might be the one to take the cake.

Facing Tennessee in Lindsay Nelson Stadium, Caglianone stepped into the box in the top of the 4th inning with Florida already holding a 6-2 lead. He added to that lead, drilling a 1-2 pitch deep into the night for an absolutely mammoth home run.

Caglianone’s home run easily cleared the scoreboard in right field and would have been a home run in any ballpark out there. The numbers for the blast officially put it as a 488-foot blast that came off the bat at 115 MPH.

After the game, head coach Kevin O’Sullivan reacted to Caglianone’s impressive blast. O’Sullivan also admitted no one on his staff felt any Gator would have 19 home runs at this point in the season, but Caglianone has shown no signs of slowing down.

“I mean, the one at Missouri last year was something else but, obviously tonight, I don’t know how far that went, what can you say? He caught the ball out front,” said O’Sullivan. “He’s got 19 homers right now and never in our wildest dreams as a coaching staff would we think that anyone on our team would have 19 homers at the midway point. Obviously, he’s swinging the bat really good.”

After Friday’s game, Caglianone is now hitting .403 on the season and slugging a ridiculous .925. He has 19 HR and has added 9 doubles, 2 triples, 40 runs scored and 47 RBI.
