Florida coach Jim McElwain met with the media Monday and mentioned once again previously suspended players would not be eligible for Florida’s upcoming game against the Michigan Wolverines.

One of the players suspended is freshman wide receiver James Robinson. Robinson was not part of the seven players who misused school funds but instead was charged with marijuana possession along with fellow freshman Ventrell Miller.

Back during one of his recruiting visits to Ohio State before enrolling at Florida, Robinson was cited for a similar crime. Miller was involved in the school funds group suspension too.

McElwain is sticking to his standards despite the Gators facing a young, talented Wolverines team this weekend.

With Antonio Callaway suspended as well, Florida will be missing a large load of offensive firepower Saturday. While Robinson has yet to play a collegiate game, the former 4-star recruit has enormous potential and would have helped alleviate some question marks facing the Florida receiving core.

Looks like Robinson has some work to do on his promise to McElwain. Florida will take on Michigan at 3:30 ET on ABC.
