Brewster, 61, was hired at UF by Dan Mullen in 2020 to coach tight ends after Larry Scott’s departure to take the Howard head coaching job. Brewster has been in coaching since 1986. He has spent time in the NFL and college. Since 2007, however, all his jobs have been in the college ranks.
Brewster was head coach at Minnesota 2007-10. He resurfaced at Mississippi State in 2012 as Mullen’s wide receivers coach. From 2013-17, Brewster was on Jimbo Fisher’s Florida State staff as tight ends coach, helping the Seminoles to a BCS national championship. Brewster followed Fisher to Texas A&M in 2018 as the Aggies’ tight ends coach. Brewster was tight ends coach and recruiting coordinator at North Carolina in 2019.
