The Florida Gators are down to 13 commitments for the class of 2021 after 4-star athlete Kamar Wilcoxson decommitted Thursday night. This marks the second time Wilcoxson has decommitted from the Gators.

Wilcoxson attends IMG Academy in Bradenton, and he originally committed to the Gators during his freshman season and later backed off the commitment. Then, last June, Wilcoxson committed to Florida for the second time. Now, he’s had a change of heart.

Although listed as an athlete, Wilcoxson will play cornerback in college. He announced his decommitment Thursday night.

“After long thoughts and many prayers I’ve decided that it’s in my best interest decommit from the University of Florida & reopen my recruitment 100%,” Wilcoxson posted on his social media account. “Thank you Coach Mullen, Gray, Grantham and the rest of the staff for everything.”

Wilcoxson ranks as the nation’s No. 16 overall athlete and the state of Florida’s No. 38 overall player for the class of 2021, according to 247Sports Composite Rankings.
