The Florida Gators possessed a seven-point lead in the fourth quarter against the South Carolina Gamecocks. Two separate times, it appeared as if Florida would seal the win.
Instead, two crucial special teams’ mistakes led to two blocks by South Carolina, which kept the Gamecocks in the game. Eventually, they made the Gators pay for their mistakes, scoring the game-tying touchdown with a few seconds remaining in the game and then the game-winning touchdown in the first overtime.
Florida’s crushing loss not only ended the Gators’ slim chances of winning the SEC East, but likely sealed Muschamp’s fate as a future “former Florida head coach.”
Twitter brought us some wonderful reactions to both the block field goal and punt as well as some thoughts on Muschamp’s job security.
The Gators really "took back the swamp" with that piss poor display of football. Blocked FG, blocked punt and idiotic play calling.

Wow Gators with the HUGE choke job. Blocked FG and punt with less than 3 minutes left is brutal.

Watched a lot of footbsall, hs, college, pro. Don't think I've ever seen a punt and FG get blocked in same qtr. Awful special teams #Gators.

Florida's special teams falling apart in the 4th. First the blocked FG, then the blocked punt. Gators could have wrapped this up a while ago

So many gut-wrenching SEC moments this year. Latest for #Gators: A FG and a punt blocked in the final four minutes of regulation time.

Unscientifc reading of my Twitter timeline suggests fans have never been as upset with Muschamp as they are now. Even in 2013.

if florida loses this one, you don’t let muschamp in the locker room. ask if he’s got his car keys on him and go from there.

Fare thee well, Muschamp.

Will Muschamp football is the DVD rack by the cashier at Walgreens.

If Muschamp does beat FSU, that's great. Good guy and should get carried off just like when Zooker did same. Can't be back next year.
— Andrew Smith (@DrewsView) November 15, 2014
Doesn't look like Florida football will be anywhere near being a Top 25 team if Muschamp sticks around.
— #FireMuschamp (@mrgatorbait) November 15, 2014
I don't know how you possibly blow that game. No way Muschamp can keep his job after that. He'll fit in well at Michigan.
— Jake Winderman (@jakewinderman) November 15, 2014
If it wasn't already evident- Muschamp is good as gone. #Gators
