Former Georgia player, current grad assistant, reportedly lands on-field position at WKU
Former Georgia lineman Carson Hall, a graduate assistant on Kirby Smart’s staff, has reportedly landed an on-field coaching job. Hall is expected to be hired as Western Kentucky’s new defensive line coach, according to Matt Zenitz of On3.
Hall, who began, his college football career at Mars Hill University in 2014, was on Georgia’s scout team from 2015-to-2017. After graduating from UGA in 2018, Hall got into coaching. His stops included Valdosta State, Illinois and LSU before returning to Athens to join Smart’s staff. On Twitter, Hall lists his title at UGA as Assistant Defensive Line Coach.
Western Kentucky coach Tyson Helton had a staff opening after the Miami Dolphins hired WKU’s Kenny Baker as assistant defensive line coach. The Hilltoppers are coming off a 9-5 season in 2022 capped by a 44-23 New Orleans Bowl win over South Alabama.
