With Kentucky’s loss to Ole Miss, Georgia clinched its first SEC East title since 2012 as the Bulldogs moved to 9-0.

Georgia can now plan a trip to Atlanta for the SEC Championship Game in December as the Bulldogs have not started 9-0 since 1982. In ’82, Heisman Trophy winner Herschel Walker led the Bulldogs to an 11-0 start. Georgia will play at Auburn next week. The title was wrapped up by Ole Miss beating Kentucky 37-34 in a game that came down to the final seconds.

Georgia quarterback Jake Fromm was 16-for-22 for 196 yards and two touchdowns in the 24-10 win over South Carolina. Running back Nick Chubb rushed 20 times for 102 yards, while Sony Michel chipped in 81 yards on 16 carries and a touchdown.

Georgia, which is ranked No. 1 in the College Football Playoff rankings and No. 2 in the AP poll, showed one of its best passing games of the season as Fromm completed three passes each to Mecole Hardman and Terry Godwin, and five to Javon Wims. Hardman and Wims each scored a touchdown. Overall, Fromm connected with eight receivers.
