The 2-time defending national champions are back in prime time on Saturday in Athens against UAB, looking to get to 4-0 with as little pain as possible before next week’s trip to Auburn.

On Saturday afternoon, Georgia named its captains for the matchup with the 1-2 Blazers from the American Athletic Conference, who arrive with nothing to lose as 40-point underdogs.

Representing the Bulldogs as team captains on Saturday night will be star tight end Brock Bowers, running back Daijun Edwards, linebacker Chaz Chambliss and safety Malaki Starks.

Edwards played a huge role in last week’s comeback victory over South Carolina, with 20 carries for 118 yards and a touchdown, helping the sleepwalking Bulldogs roar back from a 14-3 halftime deficit in a 24-14 win.

Meanwhile, Bowers was held mostly in check, for him at least, as he managed 7 catches for 54 yards but was kept out of the end zone.

Chambliss added 2 tackles, 1 solo, and was part of a defense that shut out the Gamecocks in the 2nd half while Georgia avoided the huge upset at home.

Starks was part of that ferocious defensive effort, too, and he chipped in 1 solo tackle while posting 3 pass deflections.

The quartet of captains will try to make sure there is no comeback needed on Saturday night.
