Jordan Davis had an impressive showing in Georgia’s season-opening win over Clemson. And now, he’s getting rewarded via a name, image and likeness deal.

On “The Rich Eisen Show” on Wednesday, it was announced that Davis received Gorilla Glue’s “Toughest Player on Planet Earth” status for his Week 1 performance. Because of that, Davis is receiving an NIL partnership with the brand and $1,000.

“I couldn’t be more thrilled to have someone of Jordan’s character and image to be the first winner of this award. Plus he said he could use the glue around the house,” Eisen said in a press release.

Davis, a senior defensive tackle, had 3 tackles and a sack while helping Georgia’s defense shut down Clemson in a 10-3 victory in Charlotte on Saturday night. It was a huge statement victory for the Bulldogs, who are now ranked No. 2 in the AP Top 25 poll, to open the season.

That may have been the start of a big season for Davis, who was a second-team preseason All-American and a first-team preseason All-SEC selection.

Every week, “The Rich Eisen Show” and Gorilla Glue will be teaming up to hand out this honor. The recipients are also invited to appear on Eisen’s show.

Per Gorilla Glue, the award is being given to a player who is “the workhorse hero that helped keep their team together” in a given week.
