Georgia's defense continues to impress in win over South Carolina
The Georgia Bulldog defense has been nothing short of dominant through its first 3 games of the 2021 season. No. 2 Georgia (3-0, 1-0 SEC) rolled visiting South Carolina, 40-13, on Saturday night in Athens for a rivalry win in the SEC opener for both teams.
Nolan Smith forced a fumble for UGA, the first of the year for the Bulldogs. Clemson transfer cornerback Derion Kendrick picked off South Carolina’s Luke Doty for his first interception as a Bulldog.
A Columbia, South Carolina native, senior UGA linebacker Channing Tindall played well in his final game versus the Gamecocks.
Georgia held South Carolina (2-1, 0-1) to 13 points, and it didn’t allow a touchdown to the Gamecocks until the fourth quarter when the game was well out of hand at 40-6. SC managed just 132 yards in the first half and 296 in total. The Gamecocks were held to 82 yards rushing on 34 attempts (2.4 yards/rush).

For what it's worth, it took an opposing offense 11.25 quarters to score a TD on Georgia's defense.

Lowkey think Georgia could win the National Championship this year tbh. Alabama’s WRs aren’t like they are before and the RBs aren’t generational. Kirby and his defense might be able to do something. Especially if they can run the ball. Bama will improve though. Definitely.
