Herschel Walker responds to question about running for U.S. Senate: 'Stay tuned'
Georgia legend Herschel Walker has increasingly become more active in politics, especially on the Republican side as he spoke at the most recent Republican National Convention. Last year, he also endorsed U.S. Senator Kelly Loeffler in her bid to win another term in Congress.
During an interview on Sunday with Maria Bartiromo on Fox News, Walker was asked about a possible challenge to U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock, who in January knocked Loeffler to win the Senate seat that will be up again for re-election in 2022.
At the end of the interview Walker shared responded to Bartiromo about a possible Senate run, “Stay tuned. It’s going to be exciting.”
Walker has been encouraged by former President Donald Trump to run as Trump once tweeted.
“Wouldn’t it be fantastic if the legendary Herschel Walker ran for the United States Senate in Georgia?” Trump wrote on Twitter, via CBS46. “He would be unstoppable, just like he was when he played for the Georgia Bulldogs and in the NFL. He is also a GREAT person. Run Herschel run!”
