Kirby Smart explained the extent of the stomach bug moving its way through the Georgia locker room on Saturday following the 41-17 win over Tennessee.
The CBS Sports broadcast and sideline reporter Jamie Erdahl said 8 players were sick, and that Georgia had those players separate themselves from the rest of the team during travel and meals. After the game, Smart explained that Jalen Carter, John FitzPatrick and Warren Ericson all were battling the flu bug, and Carter could not finish the game because he had a 100-degree fever.
Smart said he hadn’t had a chance yet to talk with head athletics trainer Ron Courson about the status of DL Devonte Wyatt, or LB Nolan Smith, who left the game with left knee and left arm/elbow injuries.
Jalen Carter had over 100 degree fever and had to get pulled at the half because of his temperature per Kirby Smart. He did say there were a whole handful of guys sick.
