Kirk Herbstreit includes SEC team among top-performing Week 10 squads

ESPN analyst Kirk Herbstreit appreciated one SEC team in particular on Saturday, and so much so, that he included it in his top five teams from the Week 10 action.
In fact, Herbstreit listed Georgia as his No. 2 “top performing” teams from last weekend. The Bulldogs toppled Florida, 24-17, for the third straight year in Jacksonville. Georgia did it largely by its play on third down as the Bulldogs were 12-for-18, while Florida was 2-for-9. The win kept Georgia in the running for a College Football Playoff berth, and the favorite to win the SEC East.
Georgia’s offense looked better than it had in several weeks and appeared to quiet critics from its own fan base, something coach Kirby Smart and QB Jake Fromm referred to after the game.
Utah got top billing in Herbstreit’s rankings here after the Utes took care of Washington on the road, 33-28. Oregon was No. 3 on the list after the Ducks won at Southern Cal 56-24 as they’re one of the teams outside most top four rankings to possibly reach the CFP by season’s end.
Indiana was No. 4 after the Hoosiers toppled Northwestern 34-3, and Purdue checked in at No. 5 following the Boilermakers’ 31-27 win over Nebraska.
