A former Georgia running back will win his first Super Bowl on Sunday – that much is guaranteed. For Bulldogs fans, that’s enough reason to tune in even if they aren’t particular fans of the Los Angeles Rams or New England Patriots.

If fans think they’re excited, try being a teammate of both Todd Gurley (Rams) and Sony Michel (Patriots). As UGA fans are well-aware, Nick Chubb played with both. A photo of the trio from the 2014 season often accompanies tweets boasting of Georgia being “Running Back U.”

While Chubb is excited for both his former teammates, he is understandably more excited for Michel. Chubb will take a break from training in Cedartown, Ga. for a trip to Atlanta to cheer on his teammate of four seasons (2014-17).

“I can’t wait to watch him, I have known him for a while, him and Todd (Gurley),” Chubb told 247Sports. ” I was able to play with Sony, workout with him, train with him, it is great to see one of my best friends achieve these great things and play in one of the biggest games of all time and I am going to be there cheering him on.

“I really can’t wait to go watch them.”
