Report: Jake Fromm's contract details with Buffalo Bills revealed
When the 2020 NFL Draft started, most analysts expected Georgia QB Jake Fromm to be off the board by the end of Round 3.
Instead, he had to wait until Round 5 to hear his name called, going to the Buffalo Bills after a long wait. Now, though, he has his team and he reportedly has his first NFL contract.
Per Aaron Wilson, Fromm’s deal is worth $3.771 million total, with a nearly $900,000 guarantee and a signing bonus north of $300,000:

Fromm will likely serve as the top backup for starter Josh Allen in 2020. Allen was a first-round pick back in the 2018 NFL Draft.
Hopefully, the NFL will have some sort of preseason this year so we can see how Fromm fares in his first pro action.
Jake’s going Pro has turned into one of the biggest “IF’s” for the Georgia Football Program….IF Jake had returned ? Now with a Brand New
former Wake Forest QB who is untested in the SEC….There are a number of Questions to be answered about the Dawg’s 2020 season. I Love The SEC and hope the Georgia Offense can mature quickly, as A strong East benefits the SEC.
UGA fans seem pretty happy with their QB situation. I’m guessing that Jake now wishes he would have returned to school. He did not end up in a great situation in Buffalo. Jake, in the new offense, would have benefited him greatly for the next draft.
I don’t consider it an “If” at all except from the stand point that he would have been drafted a round or two higher if it wasn’t for the COVID shut down. Would I rather have had Fromm come back for his senior year? Yes. But we’ll be alright without him.
I don’t think Jake has any regrets. In his mind he prayed about it and that was that. His situation in Buffalo is actually pretty good.
Honestly, Jake strikes me more as an over achiever and management material, than as an elite NFL QB. He may stick around on the playing field as a strong back up, or maybe force his way into a starting position somewhere for a while. But, sooner than one with NFL QB aspirations would hope, I bet he’ll make the transition to coaching or successful businessman.
Agree. But who knows.
It would be cool to see him come back to UGA as OC one day.
I certainly wish he had stayed. But, it may turn out that it didn’t matter. No football seems very possible. He would have had a wasted year of his life.
Anyway, $4M is nothing to sneeze at.
Jake will be fine and UGA will move on.
Precisely. With the benefit of hindsight, I think it’s correct to say Fromm made the right decision.
