Roman Harper understands that losing a player like Brock Bowers for the foreseeable future is going to hurt.

Harper sat down with Cole Cubelic on SEC Network Tuesday to talk about what’s next for the program after losing the playmaker, who is expected to miss the next 4-6 weeks with an ankle injury.

Rara Thomas and the other wideouts on the roster may need to step up in Bowers’ place, according to Harper. The team may also need to lean on the running game more than before.

“Georgia’s the number one team in the country right now, they are continuing to play like it. Their schedule coming up does give me a little bit of hesitancy. Not because I think this team could lose, but how does this team respond. In the biggest moments, what have they done? Give the ball to Bowers. Who’s gonna answer that bell now. Is it gonna be Rara Thomas? Is it gonna be any of the other receivers or now they’re gonna have to lean on the running game a little bit more.”

Georgia plays Florida, Missouri, Ole Miss, Tennessee, and Georgia Tech in its final five games. Time will tell if the team can recover from losing a player like Bowers.
