“We want Georgia” is the new “We want Bama.”
“We want Bama” has long been a college football rallying cry. Now that Texas has taken care of Alabama, Longhorn fans have set their sights on the 2-time defending national champions.
Ben Hartman posted a video of Texas fans chanting “We want Georgia,” as they celebrated in Austin following the Longhorns win over Alabama in Tuscaloosa.

Texas will certainly get its shot at Georgia, it’s just a matter of when. Heading into Week 3, both the Longhorns and Bulldogs are popular picks to make the College Football Playoff.
If a 2023 postseason meeting isn’t in the cards, the teams are set to meet in 2024. The Bulldogs are on Texas’ first SEC regular-season schedule.
The storied programs last met in 2019, which is “forever ago” in the college football world. Tom Herman’s Texas team defeated Georgia in the Sugar Bowl, 28-21, leading to the infamous declaration from former quarterback Sam Ehlinger.
