ESPN experts update College Football Playoff picks after Week 2
Week 2 of the 2023 college football season has come to a close, and the postseason picture has a different look. As we look ahead to Week 3, ESPN’s experts predicted their College Football Playoff fields following the Week 2 action.
While Alabama’s loss to Texas does not eliminate the Crimson Tide from making the CFP, the ESPN experts understandably do not have UA in their Playoff predictions. As you can see below, all 14 ESPN analysts have Georgia returning to the CFP for the third straight season. No other current member of the SEC makes the cut, though Texas is getting a lot of love after its big win.
The Bulldogs are off to a 2-0 start on the season with lopsided wins over UT Martin and Ball State. Kirby Smart’s squad will play its first SEC game of the season in Week 3 against South Carolina. The Gamecocks are 1-1 after playing North Carolina and Furman.
UGA is not the only universal CFP pick among the ESPN experts. Florida State is the most popular pick for the No. 2 seed, with Bill Connelly slotting the Seminoles No. 1 ahead of Georgia. Mike Norvell’s team improved to 2-0 with a blowout win over Southern Miss.
