The Los Angeles Rams released star RB Todd Gurley this offseason, so the former Georgia star went back to the Peach State, signing a 1-year contract with the Atlanta Falcons.

Though this offseason has been unique due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Gurley is still making a great first impression on this teammates.

This week, star QB Matt Ryan told ESPN he’s worked with Gurley some and has been impressed with what he’s seen:

“I’ve gotten to work with Todd and he’s awesome,” Ryan told ESPN. “Really, really good guy. A hard worker. He’s super-smart. The stuff I was telling him one day, the next day he had it done. I was really impressed with his ability to retain information. You don’t have to tell him twice. He’s on it.”

Gurley ran for 857 yards and 12 scores in 2019, starting 15 games for the Rams. He added 207 yards and 2 touchdowns as a receiver.

How will he fare in Atlanta? We’ll find out this fall.
