The 6-4, 203-pound Hester brings plenty of SEC experience to Kentucky, and will recognize some familiar faces in Lexington.
Hester is entering Year 6 of his college football career. He spent 2 years at Mizzou and 3 years at Oklahoma.
Out of Tulsa (Oklahoma) Booker T. Washington High School, Hester was rated 4-stars, the No. 4 player in the state, No. 57 wide receiver and No. 342 prospect overall on the 247Sports Composite. He signed with Mizzou out of 20 scholarship offers.
Kentucky offensive coordinator Bush Hamdan was on staff at Mizzou from 2020-22, overlapping with Hester’s time as a Tiger. Hester did not play during the 2020 season. In 2021, he made 13 appearances for the Wildcats, recording 12 catches for 225 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Hester’s time at Oklahoma got off to a rough start. He was sidelined by injury for much of the 2022 and ’23 seasons, playing in just 9 games with 1 catch for 13 yards.
This past season, Hester got back on track, posting the best numbers of his career. Hester logged 14 catches for 315 yards and 1 touchdown in 12 games for the Sooners.
