The Kentucky Wildcats picked up a big win over Alabama on Saturday afternoon, halting a four-game losing streak.

The Cats were able to win thanks in large part to the efforts of freshman forward Jarred Vanderbilt, who had 11 points and a team-high nine rebounds in only 19 minutes off the bench.

That performance caused coach John Calipari to compare Vanderbilt’s effort to that of an NBA legend and Hall of Fame forward Dennis Rodman (via ASeaOfBlue.com):

“Be Dennis Rodman…he did alright,” Calipari said.

Though Vanderbilt has been finding his rhythm after missing the first part of the season, he has been playing well for the Wildcats.

Still, it’s obviously too early to compare him to one of the best rebounders ever to set foot on a basketball court, but there are some promising signs from the young forward.
