John Calipari on feud with Mark Stoops: ‘I said the wrong thing’
By Adam Spencer
Published:
John Calipari and Mark Stoops have been having a public back-and-forth recently after Calipari insisted Kentucky was a “basketball school.”
Obviously, coming off 2 10-win seasons in the past 4 years with the football program, Stoops took issue with that.
Now, though, it seems Coach Cal is backing off his original stance, saying he said the wrong thing earlier in the week:

“I said the wrong thing,” Calipari said. “Mark and I will be fine. We’ll get back and talk about it. I’m not real smart and sometimes it don’t come out the right way. That’s my Italian in me. But we’ll be fine.”
Can the 2 high-profile Kentucky coaches put this spat behind them? Many in Lexington will be hoping for an amicable solution soon.
