Keidron Smith had to work to get his invite to the Reese’s Senior Bowl. Now, he’s trying to prove he belongs and should have always been offered a trip to Mobile.

On Wednesday, he discussed what the trip has been like after another day of practice. According to Smith, he’s simply showing scouts he’s supposed to be on the field.

“Just coming out here and competing. I got the callup from the NFLPA Bowl, I did what I needed to do there,” said Smith. “I’m just showing out here in front of these scouts knowing I’m supposed to be here.”

Smith went on to say he belongs alongside the caliber of player at the Senior Bowl and is trying to put his versatility on display:

“I just belong with this caliber of players. I should have been here in the first place, this should have been the first senior bowl invite I got and received. Just coming out here and dominating and showing these scouts my versatility.”

In one season at Kentucky, Smith posted 46 total tackles, 2 interceptions and 5 pass breakups for the Wildcats. We’ll see if his work in Mobile is enough to impress teams to select him in the 2023 NFL Draft.
