Kentucky among 5 teams expected to regress in 2019, per Sports Illustrated
The Kentucky Wildcats had an incredible 2018 season, going 10-3 and reaching a double-digit win total for the first time since 1977.
However, the Wildcats lost stars like RB Benny Snell Jr. and LB Josh Allen, so there are some big holes to fill in Lexington.
This week, Sports Illustrated writer Caleb Friedman named five teams he thinks will regress in 2019, and he had the Wildcats listed among them:
According to (SB Nation analyst Bill) Connelly’s metric, Kentucky ranks No. 114 in the FBS in returning production, and the list of departing names backs that up. On offense, Benny Snell Jr., Kentucky’s all-time leading rusher, is no longer there. On defense, linebacker Josh Allen, cornerback Lonnie Johnson and safety Mike Edwards, who played all over the defense last season, highlight a host of departed difference makers.

Duh…
They misspelled Floriduh.
The way things are going, Sideshow Dan might not be able to field a team at all this season!
No sir,, but he will probably still be running his mouth!!!!!
Too funny you take your Gator obsession to a UK story
Can’t help yourself I know, Mullen is in your pea brain 24/7
you enjoy sounding dumb don’t you?
Is it just me or did the article not even mention the University of Florida? Did the Sports Illustrated article even mention Florida? Yes, the Cats beat the Gators last year for the first time in 32 years but this article has NOTHING TO DO WITH FLORIDA! (all caps intentional).
Okay… we get it Coach Irvin… or whatever, you don’t like the Gators but this article isn’t about them. Now if you want to talk about how the Dawgs ran all over the Cats in their own house last year then that is understandable. Give SDS a few hours… they will have another story about UF and then you go off on them at the end of that article.
Someone says UK won’t be good at football, and in other news the sky is blue. People still think this is the traditional UK football program. False. Stoops is creating a new tradition. Go CATS!!!
No respect for Kentucky during the off season. The experts last year predicted a 5-7 season and KY went 10-3
Thanks for the SI link SDS. I particularly enjoyed the first section regarding t.u.
Ain’t going to happen.
‘Our version of Stoops ‘ reminded us he’s never regressed as a head coach and that’s a fact.
If he says it then its true.
Sorta like Passionate Benny pronouncing himself the best running back in college football for 2018.
And that was a fact too.
No, it’s sort of like going:
2013 2-10
2014 5-7
2015 5-7
2016 7-6
2017 7-6
2018 10-3
So it kind like, sorta like, actually like, factually happened.
It’s not like your daddy, Bobby Petrino saying Louisville will beat Alabama and then getting blown out.
Thanks for listing that record.
2013 -2017 without the three ‘baby seal’ games to get is to the ‘sacred six’ level to get to bowl games imagine how remarkable ‘our version of Stoops’ record would be.
