Kentucky’s J.J. Weaver was among a who’s who of high-profile names who received a national award for Comeback Player of the Year.
Weaver received the award, which was given by the College Sports Information Directors of America, alongside Michigan’s Aidan Hutchinson and Florida State’s McKenzie Milton. They will be honored during the Fiesta Bowl on Jan. 1.
Weaver last year suffered a torn ACL in his right knee at Florida and missed the final 2 games of the season. This season he has 34 tackles, and leads the Wildcats with 6 sacks. He also is second on the team with 10 tackles for a loss.
