Kentucky was a popular dark horse pick this preseason but now, following a disappointing loss to Ole Miss in the team’s home opener, the Wildcats are scaring down the barrel of a possible 0-5 start to the season if the team can’t rebound in a hurry.

Despite rushing for 408 yards and six touchdowns against the Rebels, Kentucky managed to lose to Ole Miss thanks in large part to allowing 459 total yards of offense and losing the turnover over battle once again.

For the second week in a row, Kentucky also failed to score from the goal line as running back AJ Rose lost the ball while reaching into the end zone early in the game.

Kentucky’s kicker Matt Ruffolo also missed the extra point following the team’s only overtime possession, which turned out to be the difference in the game.

While that play didn’t lose Kentucky the game, it could have played a big difference in a game that went into overtime.

Here is everything Mark Stoops had to say after his team dropped to 0-2 on the season.
