After leaving Texas A&M for LSU, AD Scott Woodward’s contract info is released

New LSU AD Scott Woodward received an increase in compensation after leaving Texas A&M.

Woodward earned a base salary of $900,000 at Texas A&M as part of his five-year deal, per the Dallas Morning News. Now, at LSU, Woodward will be making $1.1 million this year, per TheAdvocate.com. His total contract is for six years and $7.95 million.

Woodward’s six-year contract details were released Wednesday. He’ll make $1.1 million from 2019-2021, $1,375,000 from 2021-2023 and $1.5 million from 2023-2025, per the report. His contract includes a $250,000 relocation signing bonus that is due within 30 days of May 6, 2019. It also includes two retention bonuses of $250,000 (if he stays at LSU through April 30, 2024) and $500,000 (through April 30, 2025).

Former LSU AD Joe Alleva was making $725,000, and his contract will expire June 30, 2020.

Woodward was hired away from Texas A&M to come home to LSU. He’s a Baton Rouge native and an LSU graduate. He previously served as LSU’s director of external affairs for five years.
