He’s a few days behind the other early enrollees, but LSU wide receiver commit Mannie Netherly (Crosby, Tex. / Crosby HS) is officially making his way over to Baton Rouge to get started with his college venture.

Per The Advocate, Netherly had been held up by the NCAA (not uncommon) but that seems to have found resolution.

Netherly (6-foot-2, 185 pounds), who played quarterback in high school but projects as a receiver at the next level, serves as a four-star prospect (via 247Sports composite) and a top-40 recruit from the state of Texas.

He joins other early enrollees tackle Austin Deculus, defensive backs Jacoby Stevens and Grant Delpit, quarterback Lowell Narcisse and defensive end Justin Thomas.

With star wideout Travin Dural gone and draft-eligible junior Malachi Dupre possibly on his way out the door, and JUCO Stephen Guidry being the only other pass-catcher in LSU’s 2017 class, it’s nice to have Netherly on campus for spring ball.

The Tigers currently have the No. 7 class in the nation just three weeks before National Signing Day (Feb. 1) begins.
