Brian Kelly speaks to LSU reaching a certain 'standard' on offense under Jayden Daniels
Brian Kelly believes his offense has a certain standard under Heisman-candidate Jayden Daniels.
The Tigers are coming off a historic performance where the notched 701 total yards of offense and summed up 52 points. Obviously that kind of game can’t be expected week in and week out, but Kelly wants his offense to strive for games like that every week.
“What we do is try to play the kind of football that has been the hallmark of this offense,” Kelly said during the SEC coaches teleconference on Wednesday. “And so you want to feel as though that you’re playing to that standard. And then you evaluate it from quarter to quarter. But you’ve got to reach that standard of play, and then we’ll see where that takes us. There’ll be some times when we’ve been not to the standard of what we believe our team is. It’s really immaterial about the opposition, it’s really about our standard, so we’ll judge this based upon our standard of play and go from there.”
LSU is coming off a win and looking to close out the season with a pair of wins. The Tigers take on Georgia State this week before closing out the season against Texas A&M.
The Tigers have found their identity in their electric offense this season, and they’re hoping to keep meeting the standard in the final weeks of the season.
