CFB analyst says Garrett Nussmeier is his QB1 in 2025 NFL Draft class
College football analysts are starting to develop their draft boards and where they think players are going to end up in the 2025 NFL Draft, and one of the biggest positions is always the quarterback.
Dane Brugler, the NFL Draft Analyst at the Athletic, has LSU quarterback Garret Nussmeier as the top QB prospect in all of college football right now:
Garrett Nussmeier is my early QB1. He’s far from flawless, but he actually does NFL QB things on tape.
Anticipates well. Negotiates pressure. Pocket movements. Understands placement. Only 8 career starts, still plenty of room to grow. Has “make it” stuff. https://t.co/C7DeeJHyIZ

There was a question about how good Nussmeier would be as he was having to replace star quarterback Jayden Daniels. However, he has been terrific all year, as he has thrown for 2,222 yards and 18 touchdowns entering Saturday’s game against Texas A&M.
he Tigers are leading Texas A&M 17-7 at the half, and Nussmeier has had a huge first half. He thrown for 259 yards and 2 touchdowns, including a 76-yard pass to Aaron Anderson.
Other potential top quarterback options at the top of the 2025 NFL Draft include Miami’s Cam Ward and Colorado’s Shedeur Sanders, amongst others.
If you can’t be QB1 on a playoff team, QB1 in the draft is the consolation prize.
