It’s been a wild ride for LSU this season and that journey continued on Friday with the college football’s national champions being honored in Washington, D.C. following the Tigers’ 42-25 win over Clemson in the CFP title game.

President Donald Trump was eager to greet the Tigers from Baton Rouge to the White House with a ceremony that included Joe Burrow giving the 45th President of the United States a special LSU jersey.

“I’ll keep this short and sweet, because I’m sure Mr. President has some more pressing matters to get to, but I just want to say it’s truly an honor to be here and thank you for having us so soon after the game so the seniors could be here,” Burrow said. “That means a lot to us, this is a moment we will never forget, and it really does mean a lot to you, that you did that so soon, so thank you.

“It’s so awesome to be here, it’s a moment we’ll never forget it. It was a great season but this is a great way to cap it off, so thank you so much. And we got we got a little jersey for you right here.”
