Former LSU QB and 2020 No. 1 overall pick Joe Burrow suffered a heart-breaking loss in his first NFL game on Sunday, but the Bengals don’t have much time to think about the defeat.

That’s because they take on the Cleveland Browns on Thursday Night Football this week, and LSU coach Ed Orgeron joined the NFL Network to discuss his former star before the game.

As you can see below, Coach O detailed the leadership qualities he thinks will make Burrow a success in the pro ranks:

“He’s a champ,” Coach O says. “The good thing about having Joe on the football team is I got a chance to be the nice guy as the head coach. He was the guy who would always get on the football team. He was never satisfied.”

As for last week’s loss, Orgeron said he saw some good signs from his former quarterback:

“I thought he played an excellent game. There were a few throws that he missed, but Joe’s a guy who’s going to develop throughout the year. He’ll become an ascending player and a leader for that team in Cincinnati,” Orgeron continued.

Orgeron then goes on to discuss a couple of fights Burrow got in during LSU practices that show how tough he is. Will that toughness result in a victory on Thursday night? Tune in to the NFL Network at 8:20 p.m. Eastern time tonight to find out.
