When it comes to politeness, Miami Dolphins star DT Ndamukong Suh doesn’t have much.

Former LSU DT Davon Godchaux, who was selected by the Dolphins in the fifth round of this year’s NFL Draft, found that out quickly.

According to the Miami Herald, Suh called the incoming rookie to welcome him to the team, but Godchaux said it wasn’t exactly a warm greeting:

“Basically just be ready to come in, play, do your role and learn – shut your mouth up and learn,” he said.

Though the delivery sounds like it was a bit icier than it needed to be, the message was a good one for Godchaux to hear.

If he wants to succeed in the NFL, there aren’t many mentors better than Suh. He’d be wise to let Suh do most of the talking during practices and film sessions this summer and fall.
