Former LSU quarterback Anthony Jennings has been named the starting signal caller for UL-Lafayette, according to ESPN1420’s Scott Prather. Head coach Mark Hudspeth announced the news Tuesday afternoon.

Being a graduate transfer, Jennings is eligible to play immediately for the Ragin’ Cajuns this season.

“We are excited about Anthony joining our program and competing for the starting quarterback position this fall,” Hudspeth said back in July upon announcing Jennings’ transfer. “He has been a starting quarterback in the SEC and he led his team to nine wins. Being a senior, he will bring a wealth of experience to the position.”

The Marietta, Georgia, native Jennings played in 24 games with the Tigers in three seasons, making 13 starts and completing 124 of his 256 pass attempts for 1,792 yards and 12 touchdowns.

Jennings and the Ragin’ Cajuns will open up against Boise State on September 3.
