Players and coaches often have some wild pregame routines, and many of them are superstitious. Joe Burrow’s, though, can’t be good for his health.

When even coach Ed Orgeron raises his eyebrows at it, it must be something unusual. Banging his head against a wall?

“Just love him,” the LSU coach said as he shrugged his shoulders in a video posted to Twitter by Jacques Doucet of WAFB.

Burrow confirmed the routine.

“I do that before every game,” he said. “I put my helmet on and then smash my head against the wall once before I go out every game.”

Burrow certainly had a big game following the latest head smash against Georgia Southern. He was 23-for-27 for 278 yards passing and five TDs, which tied a school record and was done by the first half.

LSU next faces Texas as the competition dramatically improves in Week 2.
