With a new head coach in Ed Orgeron and first- and second-year coordinators in Matt Canada and Dave Aranda, respectively, LSU has endured some much-needed turnover on the sideline.

In the latest installment of the Saturday Down South podcast, I was joined by Jordy Hultberg of 103.7 The Game in Lafayette — syndicated all over the great state of Louisiana, too. A former basketball player for the Tigers, he has a unique insider’s perspective on this program.

Nelson talked at length about the Ben Simmons era in Baton Rouge and whether or not fans of the Bayou Bengals should cheer him in the NBA. Getting back to the gridiron, he’s not sure if Arden Key will even be on the field by Week 1. But Derrius Guice certainly will be, and Nelson sees a superior back to Leonard Fournette.
