The LSU Tigers are about to embark on a fun summer trip to Spain, where they’ll play several games over the course of a week abroad.

However, they’ll be without a key player when they head overseas, according to head coach Will Wade.

On Tuesday, Wade said rising sophomore wing Marlon Taylor had surgery earlier this summer and won’t be able to play (via 247Sports):

“Marlon Taylor had surgery on his foot earlier this summer so he won’t be part of the trip to Spain,” Wade said. “(Taylor) had a screw put into his foot.”

Wade continued by saying this was a surgery that was decided upon for Taylor’s long-term health, but since he can now recover in time for the 2019-20 season, it was a good time to do it.

Taylor started 24 of the Tigers’ 35 games last season, averaging 6.7 points and 3.6 rebounds per contest.
