LSU drops stirring 100-year tribute to Death Valley narrated by Leonard Fournette
LSU is gearing up for a much-anticipated conference showdown with the Ole Miss Rebels in Week 7.
The No. 13 Tigers enter the game 4-1 overall and 1-0 in SEC play. The No. 9 Rebels, meanwhile, enter the game 5-1 overall and 1-1 in SEC play. This game will be played in Death Valley at night, which is the best possible scenario for the Tigers.
Ahead of the matchup, the Tigers released an awesome tribute to Death Valley narrated by school legend Leonard Fournette. 2024 is the 100th anniversary of the groundbreaking at Death Valley, amplifying the significance of this game.
“This place we call home, it needs little introduction,” said Fournette to begin the video. “A valley paved by legends who once walked these hallowed grounds.”

The video then shows clips from some of the best LSU players of all time, including Booger McFarland, Tyrann Mathieu, and Joe Burrow, among others.
“Welcome to Death Valley,” declared Fournette “It never gets old.”
Since 2000, 123 night games have been played in Tiger Stadium. LSU owns a 115-8 record in those games, signifying just how tough it is to play in Death Valley after dark.
The Tigers’ lone loss in 2024 came in the opener against USC. Since then, the Tigers have won 4 in a row, including a conference matchup at South Carolina.
LSU and Ole Miss play each other every season, and the Tigers have won 65 games in the series compared to the Rebels’ 42. The SEC rivals will kick off from Death Valley on Saturday at 7:30 p.m. ET.
