LSU was 6 outs away from starting the NCAA Tournament 0-1 before an epic comeback. Down 11-4 to Kennesaw State heading into the bottom of the 8th inning, the Tigers battled back in a big way, scoring 10 runs to take an 14-11 lead into the top of the 9th inning. LSU was able to get those final 3 outs without giving up a run, pulling off the epic postseason comeback.

LSU’s big inning did not involve the long ball. The Tigers scored on a series of singles, doubles, walks and a hit by pitch.

Dylan Crews, Josh Pearson and Brayden Jobert finished with 3 RBIs each. Devin Fontenot did not allow a run over 3.1 innings in relief, picking up the win. Paul Gervase logged the save with a scoreless 9th inning.

LSU is not one of the 16 regional hosts with a national seed. The Tigers are playing as the No. 2 seed in the Hattiesburg Regional, hosted by Southern Miss. LSU faces Southern Miss in the winner’s bracket game Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
