Peter Burns relishes bet payoff of LSU-Florida with Chris Doering, aka Chuckles the Clown

Peter Burns and Chris Doering annually wager against one another on the LSU-Florida game, with Burns a long-time LSU fan, and Doering a former wide receiver at Florida.

So following LSU’s win on Saturday, Doering walked on the set of “SEC This Morning” wearing a “Chuckles the Clown” costume, as Burns thoroughly enjoyed it.

“Death, taxes and Chris Doering losing our annual LSU-Florida bet,” Burns said. “So without further ado here on SEC This Morning, we’d like to welcome in our featured guest, Chuckles the Clown, Chuckles, good morning sir, oh little sad clown. Womp, womp, womp. How we feeling there buddy, are you OK? Well, there’s only one person to thank for this, it’s definitely not you, Chuckles.”

And that’s when Burns welcomed in LSU coach Brian Kelly to the show.

“I have a ton of respect for Chris and his knowledge of football, but I’d stay away from betting,” Kelly said.

Added Doering, “I am sad for me, I am sad for my alma mater, but happy for Coach Kelly, a fantastic game that you guys played.”
