Country megastar Tim McGraw is an SEC guy, but he was still happy to meet Clemson coach Dabo Swinney at the 2019 NFL Draft in Nashville on Thursday night.
However, he drew the line when Swinney tried to get him to say “Go Tigers!” at the end of their meeting.
As you can see at the end of the video below, McGraw does indeed say “Go Tigers!” but then clarifies that he is talking about the LSU Tigers:
Dabo Swinney ran into @TheTimMcGraw here on the red carpet at the #NFLDraft. Dabo told Tim he’s a big fan and got him to say “Go Tigers.” Tim said “although it’s the LSU Tigers!” ? @clemsonfb @lsufootball pic.twitter.com/mG6MMN4e8h

If only it was possible to differentiate between “Go Tigers!” and “Geaux Tigers!” then McGraw might not have had that problem.
Swinney was a good sport about it, laughing off the comment from McGraw.
