LSU struggled to defeat Syracuse at home earlier this year, but managed to get the job done, holding on for a 35-26 victory.

That’s something then-No. 2 Clemson can’t say after it lost to Syracuse on the road on Friday night, becoming the first of four top-10 teams to lose over the weekend.

According to LSU WR D.J. Chark, that Syracuse upset motivated LSU to pull off an upset of its own against No. 10 Auburn on Saturday afternoon. He described the motivation in the video below, shared by @Dave1037TheGame on Twitter:

“I told [fellow WR] Russ [Gage], ‘There’s going to be another upset tomorrow,'” Chark says. “That’s just the way we came into the game.”

Things may have looked grim for LSU entering the game, as the Tigers quickly went down 20-0 to Auburn, but they managed to claw their way out of the hole and earn a 27-23 win over the nation’s No. 10 team.

Give an assist to Syracuse for providing a spark for Chark’s big day.
