Will Wade and the LSU Tigers went to Vanderbilt on Saturday evening and left town with a 75-66 loss.

It was the Tigers’ 6th loss in their last 7 games. Yes, they were without guard Xavier Pinson, but that’s still not a game the Tigers should lose.

After the loss, Wade said his team is lacking confidence at the moment (via On3 Sports):

“It’s hard to be confident when you’ve lost six out of seven,” Wade said of LSU’s confidence. “I mean look, we’ve got to inject a little confidence in our guys and we’ve got to get back to certainly playing better than we are now.”

But, he added, lack of confidence and injury concerns can’t be blamed for all that is going wrong with LSU these days:

“Health related, attention to detail, there’s different issues on different things,” Wade said when asked what LSU’s biggest issues are right now. “Some of it’s health, but we can’t blame it all on that. Everybody’s got some issues. We didn’t get an offensive rebound in the first half, that’s an effort issue. We don’t follow the details on the scouting report. Give up 11 threes to two of their best shooters, that’s a detail issue. So it’s a little bit of both.”

LSU faces a very important week. The Tigers head to College Station on Tuesday night to take on a struggling Texas A&M squad. Then, LSU returns home on Saturday to host Mississippi State.
