Mario Cristobal’s Miami squad is one of the most exciting stories in college football this season. The Hurricanes were No. 19 in the preseason AP Top 25. As one of only a handful of remaining undefeated teams, UM is expected to be well-positioned for the College Football Playoff when the selection committee unveils the first top 25 of the season on Tuesday evening.
Cristobal, however, says the Canes aren’t concerned with the CFP rankings. During a Monday media opportunity, the Miami head coach said UM would put “absolutely zero” stock into where the committee ranks the Hurricanes.
Canes HC Mario Cristobal, on the stock Miami will put into tomorrow’s CFP rankings:
“Absolutely zero. We’ll be in practice, we’ll be in meetings. Will it be out there? … Yes. … But you always circle back to find a way to be 1-0 or it doesn’t matter what it is next week.”

Miami is No. 4 in the latest AP Top 25. The CFP selection committee’s rankings, however, often vary from the AP Top 25. While AP voters rank UM behind 1-loss Georgia (No. 2) and Ohio State (No. 3) squads, the committee may reward the Canes for being 9-0 through Week 10.
Cristobal’s squad is on the road in Week 11 as it seeks to get its 10th win. Miami faces Georgia Tech, a team it lost to in stunning fashion last season thanks to poor clock management.
