Safe to say Mississippi State rebounded nicely from losing Game 1 of the 2021 College World Series Final.

The Bulldogs completely dominated the Commodores on Tuesday night, coming away with a 13-2 victory that sets up a winner-take-all Game 3 set for Wednesday night in Omaha.

Mississippi State came out hot, scoring four runs in the third inning, and never took their foot off the gas in Game 2. The game was affected by an hour-long rain delay, but that did little to cool the Bulldogs’ bats.

Pitcher Preston Johnson secured the win for Mississippi State, after throwing in five innings, allowing just two hits and striking out seven Vanderbilt batters.

Mississippi State is now one win away from its first national championship.
